Want to know something berry berry nice about the start of September? Blackberries are in peak season, which means enjoying these beautiful little berries by the boat load.
Not only are they tasty and the nicest bloomin’ colour, they are also (blackberry) jam-packed with health benefits, as they help to strengthen the immune system, clear skin, work towards healthy functioning of the heart and aid digestion.
But, don’t panic, we know what you’re thinking… they make a nice snack, but what else can you do with them? Well, if you hold your horses, we’ll tell you.
Here are our top tips for the best things to do with those brilliant little berries...
1. Pop them in an Autumnal Salad. They’ll always add a refreshing hit to a simple salad.
2. Up your smoothie game. These gorgeous berries have one of the highest antioxidants levels of all fruit, so they promise to add a serious boost to your day.
3. Make yourself a blackberry leaf tea. Yes, even blackberry leaves are tasty. To make a simple tea, pop two teaspoons of blackberry leaves into one cup of boiling water for 10 minutes and enjoy!
