SAUCY CHEF’S TOP TIP... PEPPER!

This month our seasonal top pick is the bell pepper. We think this versatile number often gets overlooked, so we’re giving you our top tips and encouraging you to pick a pepper this August!

► Firstly, and probably most importantly, the bell pepper is botanically a fruit! Shocking, we know.

► You’re probably familiar with the red, green and yellow varieties, but did you know bell peppers also come in purple, black, white and brown?

► Peppers are relatively easy to grow at home: find a sunny spot, sow in the winter and harvest in the summer.

► Although each colour carries different nutritional benefits, bell peppers are generally low in calories and rich in antioxidants.

► From salads to stir-fry, these sweet peppers are delicious both raw and cooked. We recommend pairing the red, green and yellow varieties with a fillet of cod.
