SAUCY CHEF’S TOP TIP… PAK CHOI!

Posted 25 May 2016 by The Saucy Fish Co.

This month the Saucy Chef is celebrating pak choi. If you’re not familiar with our top pick, the pak choi is a popular Chinese cabbage also known as bok choi, with a celery-like appearance. It’s full of vitamin A and C and generally available all year round.

Pak choi has a slightly bitter, mustardy taste with a crisp texture. Although it can be added to salads and eaten raw, we recommend heating slightly for optimum flavour

Try our simple stir-fry side dish for two, perfect when paired with salmon. All you need to do is wash and chop 100g of pak choi (you can eat the leaves and the stem), along with 100g of tenderstem broccoli and stir fry in a wok for a few minutes over a high heat. Add a small handful of fresh, chopped chillies and ginger with a splash of soy sauce, before removing from the heat.
