SAUCY FOOD PREDICTIONS - 2018

We’ve looked into the future. And it’s pretty darn fishy! Ok, there’s some other awesome stuff packed in there too. Here’s a sneak peak of the world according to Saucy, 2018-style.

Feeling sparkly: Sure these were huge in 2017, but a whole new raft of sparkling waters and seltzers are about to hit the shelves. With so many packed full of natural sweeteners and no nasties, will 2018 be the year to ditch your fizzy drink habit?

Flower power: Floral flavours are set to dominate our dishes in 2018. Stick with us, we’re not talking about adding daisies to your salad. Fresh flavours like elderflower and rose will be making their debut in drinks and desserts across the land.

Picture-perfect by the bowlful: When it comes to fashion-forward meals, the bowl is in. Instagram has a huge part to play in this phenomenon, and it shows no signs of slowing. And why not! From Buddha bowls to Hawaiian Poke to Korean Bimbimap, nothing beats grabbing a spoon and tucking into some comfort food.

Waste not want not: Picture the scene. You’re making dinner, chopping up your scallions and…hold it. You just threw some away didn’t you! Not this year buddy. 2018’s the year of ‘root-to-stem cooking’, where not a single inch is wasted. Top tip: the blender is your friend. Even cauliflower leaves can be blended in your morning smoothie!
