TRAVEL FOR THE TASTE BUDS - GREECE

Summer holidays are coming to an end but it's not too late to catch some last minute sun. One of the most popular destinations to jet off to is the wonderful country of Greece.

Greece, with its glorious islands, dazzling beaches, high temperatures and historic sights proves a popular choice. Holidaymakers can also expect to tuck into some of the finest food in the world as the Greeks are famed for their fantastic Mediterranean cuisine.

There are many dishes on offer but we have picked out a couple of our favourites to share with you.

Lavraki (Greek Sea Bass)

This tasty dish is simple but captures all the flavour of Greece. Simply stuff the fish with fresh herbsoregano and parsley, a couple of crushed garlic cloves, a squeeze of lemon juice and a drizzle of Greek olive oil. Finally border top and bottom with fresh sliced tomatoes and wrap in a parchment parcel. Cook for 45 minutes.

Prawn Saganaki

This dish contains Greek staples feta and ouzo and can be served as a main course or meze. Lightly fry onion, garlic, green pepper and chilli pepper in olive oil. Add a handful of prawns and fry for a further two minutes. Pour in the ouzo and cook for two more minutes. Add the chopped fresh tomatoes and parsley and simmer for five minutes.

Put the mixture in a ceramic bowl and place small cubes of the feta on top. Place the bowls under the grill until the feta has melted and turned a golden brown. Serve whilst hot with chopped fresh parsley to garnishdelicious!
