SMART SIDE DISHES - TERRIFIC WITH TUNA

Tuna is the perfect partner for pan-frying, robust enough to withstand the heat and meaty enough to stay together in the pan. As such, you really want to select light sides to complement the chunky, meaty texture of tuna.

Go for dishes that are attractive and colourful with appealing textures to really 'dress' the tuna steaks once plated up.

Try a crisp leaf salad with roughly chopped tomatoes and sprinkle with herby croutons - for a cracking contrast in texture. Drizzle with basil olive oil and season for a solid base for your tuna steaks to top. Or, when feeding those with big appetites, try a small shell whole-wheat pasta side with cooked trimmed green beans, lemon zest, a pinch of chilli flakes and olive oil for drizzling.
