GREEN TEAPosted 31 August 2016 by The Saucy Fish Co.
As the colder evenings start to creep in, it’s time to put away the ice packs and pop the kettle on, because this month at Saucy HQ we’re going green!
Green tea is full of antioxidants, more specifically antioxidants called caterchins which have been shown to reduce irregular cell growth. These antioxidants don’t stop there as they also help you combat fat and burn calories.
Are you in need of an energy boost? Green tea may contain less caffeine than coffee, however it still gives that desired energy boost without any of the jitteriness. It also contains certain amino acids that join forces with the caffeine to positively affect brain function. Need we go on?
If a green cuppa is not your cup of tea don’t fear, you can pair a green tea bag with a Saucy salmon fillet for a recipe to make your friends green with envy!
○ Saucy Salmon fillet
○ A green tag bag
○ Sesame oil
○ A garlic clove
○ Salt and pepper to season
Pre-heat your oven to 180°C and pierce your fillet with 1cm deep cut. Proceed to season the fillets with salt, pepper and the contents of your green tea bag - making sure they get inside the cuts. Next, cover the fillet with a teaspoon of sesame oil and push the finely cut garlic clove into the cuts, baking the fillet for 15 – 20 minutes.
