TOP TIP: BRUSSELS SPROUTSPosted 7 December 2017 by Saucy Fish Co.
We know sprouts aren’t usually the first thing guests dart for at the Christmas dinner table, however, this Christmas we are determined to bring these super healthy, green vegetables into the limelight. Because why should they feel left out every year?
Meet STUFFING SPROUTS! A meaty masterpiece to make these vegetables the talk of Christmas time.
Even the kids will be asking for more (...maybe).
What you need:
○ 50g butter
○ 1 shallot, finely chopped
○ 3 rashers of bacon, chopped
○ 3 sausages, finely chopped
○ 500g sprouts, sliced
○ 150g cooked chestnuts, roughly chopped
What you need to do:
Melt the butter in a small frying pan and add the onion, cook until soft for around 10 minutes. Increase the heat to medium and stir in the bacon, and sausage meat. Cook for around 7 minutes, until that mixture starts to brown.
Tip in the sprouts and chestnuts, cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes. Fry on high heat for a further for 1-2 minutes to toast everything and then serve up.
