CHILLED OUT WITH SAUCY

Posted 1 August 2018 by The Saucy Fish Co.

Fish and summertime go together like... Well, fish and many things. When it’s a warm day there’s nothing better than sitting outside on your little patio and having a delicious and light fish meal. But what should you drink with your dinner or lunch. Our suggestion: chilled white wine of course.

Yes, there are a few red wines that pair nicely with fish, but it’s the summer and the fact is you can’t go too far wrong with most whites.

Recommended are Muscadets and Sauvignon Blancs whose crisp flavours will nicely pair with your delicious fish. We have a penchant for picpoul de pinet which isn’t so well known but a real winner. Chardonnay is also a favourite but perhaps make sure it’s oaked. And then there’s Vinho Verde Never heard of it? This sweet and often slightly fizzy wine is drunk by the gallon in Portugal and could well be you next favourite white wine.

Finally, if you’ve got a bigger wallet then go the whole hog and get some champagne to go with your fish. After all, there’s never no reason to celebrate.

Cheers!
