Our friends across the channel know a thing or two about sauces. Try one of our favourite French flavours at home with this simple recipe for the perfect beurre blanc.
Drizzle over a fillet of white fish and serve with pan seared asparagus for a light dish, guaranteed to impress any dinner guest.
What you’ll need, serves 2:
120ml white wine vinegar
120ml of white wine, ideally dry white wine
250g of unsalted butter
What you’ll need to do:
STEP 1: Chop the shallots into small pieces and place in a saucepan with the vinegar and wine.
STEP 2: Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat until only a small amount of liquid remains.
STEP 3: Slowly add in small chunks of butter, allowing time to melt.
